This vibrant area of the bohemian sub-barrio Palermo Viejo sits between the streets Santa Fé, Coronel Díaz, Córdoba and Juan B. Justo. This is one of the trendier parts of Palermo (along with Palermo Hollywood) and a favorite haunt of backpackers, hipsters and designers. It is home to lazy, tree-lined cobblestone streets where new businesses continue to spring up in the old Spanish-style houses and converted warehouses. The area oozes innovation and is young, fresh and international. It’s the place to sip a cortado while sat on the terrace of a chic café; browse market stalls and independent boutiques for the latest fashions; seek out the newest low-key bar; catch up on some work or emails at a co-working space; or simply wander the streets and blend in with the cool crowd.
Our lovely Thames Street has been qualified by Timeout as one of the "30 Coolest Streets of the World" 6th June 2021 so nothing best like its own recommendations:
"A bustling thoroughfare linking smart Palermo with edgier Villa Crespo, Calle Thames is best known for its independent kitchens and watering holes, many housed in repurposed buildings. Foodies revere budget-friendly Sarkis for trad Armenian food (25 minutes walking) and Las Pizarras for quality small plates (just crossing the street), while a young crowd dines at Asian steakhouse Niño Gordo (10 minutes walk), churros-and-taco bar Juan Pedro Caballero and sausage purveyor Chori. Mercat, a brand-new indoor food hall, houses a Jewish bakery and a wine bar. When it comes time for cocktails, Tres Monos has been ranked as one of the best bars in the world (5 minutes walk), deli Cacho specialises in aperitivi and Puro Bistro is the place for cigar and whisky aficionados.
EAT Sinful mollejas (sweetbreads) dabbed with sugarcane honey at always-busy parrilla La Carnicería (just besides building entrance).
DRINK The French 4: a sparkling gin-and-pear concoction at Bar 878, a cavernous two-bar space led by top bartender Julián Díaz.
BUY The quintessential Argentine tea kit (comprising energy-giving yerba mate leaves, a stylish hand-crafted cup and a straw) at Todos Mates. Sorrel Moseley-Williams"

The Cabrera Palace was built in 1935 as a solidarity work, so that elderly women without families could live in their own place and in a warm and supportive environment. Filomena and José Devoto dedicated their entire lives to financing social projects in their neighborhood with their own assets, including the Chapel and the "Hogar Devoto" a building for give shelter, education and religion to orphaned boys and girls. Filomena, now a widow, bought Palacio Cabrera building to honor her husband. The Administration of this headquarters was entrusted to the San Vicente de Paul Society, which also absorbed Hogar Devoto, even after Filomena's death in 1947. Cabrera's home closed its doors forever in 2010 and was left in the care of a landlord, blending in with the so-called Palermo Hollywood and not attracting much attention other than the graffiti artists who took advantage of its walls. PRESENT: Today, after an exhibition held by Casa FOA, the Palacio Cabrera (neocolonial-style building) has been remodeled by real estate developer BrodyFriedman. It was a restructuring project that had 36 habitable units on its original structure, which was reformed and restored in its entirety.
