The Cabrera Palace was built in 1935 as a solidarity work, so that elderly women without families could live in their own place and in a warm and supportive environment. Filomena and José Devoto dedicated their entire lives to financing social projects in their neighborhood with their own assets, including the Chapel and the "Hogar Devoto" a building for give shelter, education and religion to orphaned boys and girls. Filomena, now a widow, bought Palacio Cabrera building to honor her husband. The Administration of this headquarters was entrusted to the San Vicente de Paul Society, which also absorbed Hogar Devoto, even after Filomena's death in 1947. Cabrera's home closed its doors forever in 2010 and was left in the care of a landlord, blending in with the so-called Palermo Hollywood and not attracting much attention other than the graffiti artists who took advantage of its walls.
